The goal was to re-create a famous self portrait, but divide it into sections with different colour schemes. One scheme being that of the original painting, I wanted to choose two colour schemes that would flow with the original colours, and not seem so choppy. The green leaves were perfect to flow into a monochromatic section, and the white of her shirt made an excellent segway to a black and white area.
