eye of newt
Creating a poster for an upcoming viewing of the play The Crucible, I wanted to stay true to the somewhat
dark content of the play, yet appeal to modern and new potential audience members.
Reading through the play and establishing points of symbolism, I started looking at shape relations with the tress of the forest. Capping the negative space between the trees with small heads sporting witch hats offered a sort of optical illusion. Viewing the bottom of the poster one sees trees, viewing the top one sees a line of witches, offering a no-spoiler insight into what to expect.
